Weekly Devotions – March 3, 2025
Our reflection from the Gospel this week is:
“Remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother’s eye.”
This well-known verse from Luke’s Gospel is often used to teach us about judgment. Similar to the story of the adulterous woman, today’s Gospel explains that we have all committed sins, so who are we to judge and condemn when one of our peers does the same?
Instead, we should look inward and work toward repentance for our sins so we are able to faithfully and fully help our brothers and sisters achieve the same goal.
We pray together: St. Jude, help me remember that we all make mistakes, and no matter who we are or what we’ve done, everyone deserves God’s forgiveness.
Yours in prayer,
