In Sunday’s Gospel reading, Jesus tells the story of two sons to illustrate the way of God’s kingdom. The first son decided to help even though he initially said no, while the other son did not follow through with his word.

The point of the parable is that good intentions are not enough. Our actions must match our words. Obedience in the way of Christ is the greatest affirmation of our love for God.       

We pray together: St. Jude, change my heart that I may desire only what is pleasing to God. Help me to respect God’s will.
