Our reflection from this week’s Gospel is:

“If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.”

In this week’s Gospel, Jesus made a dramatic gesture by embracing a child to show His disciples who really is the greatest in the Kingdom of God. In Jesus’ time, children had the lowest social status and were seen as servants to their parents. From this gesture, the disciples learned that those who are humble, cast away their pride, and take lowly positions of service are the greatest in the Kingdom of God.

We pray together: St. Jude, open the hearts and minds of all God’s children, that they may accept the challenge to serve others.
