Weekly Devotion – October 23rd

Our reflection from the Gospel this week is:

“Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”

In the ancient times of Caesar, the ruler’s image was on the currency used. It could be interpreted that the coins were the ruler’s personal property. We, too, have been stamped with God’s image, since we are created in His own likeness. We belong, not to ourselves, but to God who created us.

We pray together: St. Jude, teach me to remember that I am created in the image of God and to strive to do what is right.
