Weekly Devotion – November 11th

The generosity of the poor widow during Sunday’s Gospel is both an inspiration and a challenge to us as we strive to be good stewards of the blessings we have received from the Lord. As the Lord has been good to us, we should strive to be good to others, to share generously and lovingly with our family, our Church, and those in need. Christ is our model for generosity. He became poor and humble, sharing all that He had and giving freely of Himself to help everyone He could. May our generosity be nothing less than wholehearted, following the example of our Lord and the poor widow.

We pray together: St. Jude, teach me to give and not to count the cost; to serve others who are in need; to labor and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do God’s will.
