Weekly Devotion – March 14th
Sometimes it is easy to see why Jesus chose Peter as the foundation of our church. Although he certainly made some mistakes, Peter was blessed with childlike faith, and he witnessed Christ’s greatest miracles.
Jesus appears with Moses and Elijah as He is transfigured in this week’s Gospel reading. Peter must be as shocked as those with him, but in faith he says to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here.” Peter knows this event is a blessing from God, meant for him and the Apostles. The miracles we experience each day are smaller, but they can still be sources of joy for us. We take time to acknowledge the good God provides for us and continue to express our gratitude to God.
We pray together: St. Jude, you followed Christ as St. Peter did. Just as you both learned from Jesus, I long to learn His way. Teach me gratitude for the small miracles in my life. Amen.
