In this week’s Gospel, Jesus tells the Apostles that as they go out to spread the Word of God, people may respond with opposition and dissent. While this was a warning of what was ahead of the twelve, it was also a statement that they must each carry their own cross just as Jesus did. To share in the work of Jesus was a privilege, just as we are called to live as disciples of Jesus.

We pray together: St. Jude, at the Last Supper you sat and watched as Jesus offered the sacrifice of the first Eucharist. As I partake in this gift, strengthen in me a sense of gratitude.
