In this week’s Gospel, Jesus tells the Apostles that as they go out to spread the word of God, people may respond with opposition and dissent. While this was a warning of what was ahead of the twelve, it was also a statement that they must each carry their own cross just as Jesus did. To share in the work of Jesus was a privilege, just as we are called to live as disciples of Jesus.
