Just as Jesus nourished the crowd with His powerful, heartfelt teaching, so too would He feed them with the bread that satisfied their bodily hunger. From five loaves and two fish, Jesus provides a banquet requiring twelve baskets for all of the leftovers.

The love Jesus showed for the large crowd at the Sea of Galilee during Sunday’s Gospel, He continues to share with you and me. Every time we participate in the Holy Eucharist at Mass, we experience both the power of the Lord’s teaching through His Word and the presence of the Lord through His sacrificial banquet.
