Weekly Devotion – February 3rd

This Sunday we celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. Simeon waited his whole life to meet Christ.  He never lost hope and patiently waited as the Holy Spirit said “that he should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.”

When Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple, Simeon immediately recognized Jesus. Simeon proclaimed that Jesus would be “a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.” He tells us Jesus came for salvation for everyone in the world.

We pray together: St. Jude, help me to be patient like Simeon. May I recognize the Lord’s presence in my life and be ready to respond to him.
