Weekly Devotion – April 29th
Everyone finds it difficult to believe things we have not seen. This is even true if it happens to be good news, which we sometimes refuse to believe so as not to be disappointed later. In Sunday’s Gospel, St. Thomas believes in Christ’s Resurrection only when he meets Jesus and feels the wounds from the crucifixion.
“Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed,” Jesus tells him. This blessing is for us this Easter season. Even when believing is difficult, we turn to God in faith, and with our Church community we celebrate that Christ has risen. Living our lives as Jesus did, we trust the power of life that conquers death in Christ.
We pray together: St. Jude, I am privileged to be a follower of Jesus, true God and true man. Teach me humility and reverence this day.
