St. Jude Journal – October 2023

The loss of someone we love often leaves us with a complex range of emotions and thoughts. Along with our loss, we are grateful for the unique gift the person was in our life. We celebrate the rich memories; recalling these with others is often an important part of our healing and acceptance.

The death of someone close leaves us in need of renewed hope and additional strength from God. In memory of all the departed faithful, we will be celebrating a Solemn Novena to St. Jude for All Souls, October 20—28, at the National Shrine of St. Jude. October 28 is the Feast of St. Jude, when we offer our gratitude for all the blessings and strength we have received through St. Jude’s intercession.

Remember your loved ones in this Solemn Novena by including them in your petitions. We will place your petitions at the altar of St. Jude at the National Shrine, where they will be remembered in our Masses and prayers throughout the Novena. Thank you for sharing in Novena prayer for all who have died. May God bless you with comfort and peace.
