St. Jude Journal – October 2022
We are blessed as people of faith and devotion to know the comfort those bring when someone we love dies. Prayer helps ease the pain of loss as we work to move forward. Gratitude to God gives us a positive way to celebrate the blessings of life after a loss, even as we mourn.
Our prayer is also a very personal way to stay connected with those who have died. We pray to St. Jude to intercede on their behalf and ours, so their eternal life and our earthly lives will continue to be blessed by the loving presence of God.
To honor our special connection with our departed loved ones, we will celebrate the St. Jude Novena for All Souls, October 20th—28th, at the National Shrine of St. Jude. This Novena is an opportunity for focused prayer for all our family and friends who have died, and for our intentions and petitions of gratitude to St. Jude.
Remember your loved ones in this Solemn Novena by including them in your petitions. We will place your petitions at the altar of St. Jude at the National Shrine, where they will be remembered in our Masses and prayers throughout the Novena.
Thank you for sharing in Novena prayer for all who have died. May God bless you with comfort and peace.
