Dear St. Jude,

Please intercede on behalf of my grown daughter. I don’t know exactly what to ask for, because I cannot change the past. Perhaps intercede for peace, happiness, and goodness for her.

I have come to realize my shortcomings as a parent. I should have been a better advocate and a Catholic role model. In addition, I neglected to submit financial paperwork that would have provided very helpful funds during her childhood.

I feel sad—no, devastated—about this. I ask that she have a good life and not be sad about the past. I was a loving parent and generally responsible, but I dropped the ball on some important things.

Please also intercede for me that, despite my sadness about this, I can move forward to be a good force in the world. I am stuck in the past. I know God wants me to be better in the future, and I will try.
