St. Jude Journal — June 2020

We know from our own experiences how good it feels to be asked for our help by someone we care about. Placing ourselves in service of those we love gives us a great sense of purpose and fulfillment. Giving to others also strengthens the bond of trust we share with them.

It can take a little more effort to turn the table and ask for help ourselves. In our spiritual lives, asking for what we need calls into action the trust we have in our faith. Our faith encourages us to meditate on our needs, respond to God’s call to enter into relationship with Him through prayer, and to ask for His help, guidance, and mercy.

The upcoming Solemn Novena to St. Jude, June 20th—28th is a unique opportunity to share our needs with God through the intercession of St. Jude. We will celebrate the nine days of Novena prayer June 20—28 at the National Shrine of St. Jude. Novena prayer gives us a special focused way to turn to God for guidance and to receive the strength of the Holy Spirit.

Send your special intentions and we will place them at the altar of St. Jude at the National Shrine, where they will be remembered in our Masses and prayers throughout the Novena.
